I don't care what these recruiting analysts say, this was a prime example of someone getting hyped up by the last name on the back of his jersey. If his named had been Smith instead of Manning, he would have been a mid-level four star recruit.

Correct. I saw him play a couple of times in HS and watched his other highlights a lot. He definitely has the feel of a low-to-mid 4* guy. Has some arm talent, but wasn't some elite type player.

I'd still take him at LSU because a low-to-mid 4* still has a chance of being a very solid player, but he isn't his uncle Peyton or something.
