Gee, I wonder why they have to import so many students?

Because Alabama wanted to expand its student population to around 30,000 and needed out of state talent to do it. They did this by dangling huge merit scholarships without income restrictions to prospective out-of-state students. As a result, we got a lot of students from Texas, California, Illinois, and other states throughout the southeast to come to Alabama.

Bama is actively recruiting and giving full scholarships to second-tier high school students from Louisiana.
