I agree that there needs to be consistency, but there was consistency in THIS game... see my three examples, all three no-calls. The consistency issue is game-to-game, week-to-week. I am fearful though, that with too much oversight around this you lose the football we all know and love. There definitely needs to be a balance between player safety and controlled aggression on defense, otherwise we should just play flag football

This is just not correct. The three plays you referenced are not similar. By rule Daniels was a defenseless player. In both of the examples Milroe was a RB and not considered defenseless. Completely different standard on those two situations.

Having said that, the targeting or non-targeting on Daniels did not determine the game (because I feel like the game was over at that point with how pathetic our defense was) Three plays prior to that hit determined the game: (1) the holding call on Blackwell; clearly it was a hold, similar to 15 or 20 other obvious holds on both teams that were not called; (2) the play after the hold when Mason Taylor drops a pass right in his hands that would have been either a first down or a third and very short; and (3) Bama sending a blitz and getting the deflection and pick. At that point the game was likely decided.
