I think we all miss the nostalgia of football back then.

That's why i put more emphasis on what happened then. CFB peaked in the late 90s to early 2000s.
We are on a steep trajectory down nowadays.
And i sincerely believe those best mid to late 90s teams would stomp a mudhole into today's teams because today 's players are soft asf in comparison and they just all view it as a money grab nothing else now.
The slight size and strength advantage isn't nearly enough to make up for the lack of heart and will to win. Everyone playing today grew up with a smart phone in their hands.
Back then you had seniors like Peyton freakin Manning turning down millions of dollars to stay in college for one more year and try to get that elusive championship.
Yes for those who don't remember, Manning turned down being a top 5 pick to return for one more year in college before he went on to have one of the most legendary QB careers ever in the NFL.
Guys like that are freakin legends and real champions. Their desire to win and love of competing superceeds everything else. Now you got half the team sitting out on bowl games and such or anyone with any remote NFL potential playing not to get injured. It's just not the same.
Most of these newer generations just don't have much dawg in them compared to older guys.
