Georgia has a very nondescript shape. It’s always seemed weird to me that Georgia was one of the original 13 colonies.

Georgia, as a British colony, did not have the borders you see today. In fact, all of Alabama and Mississippi were once part of the Georgia colony.

The Georgia Colony was created to protect the rest of the colonies from Florida. We're still doing it to this day. You're welcome!
