Even if Sears comes back, I feel people will start to understand how crucial a role Estrada played on the offensive end

Hopefully. I got really sick of people dogging him all the time. Estrada isn't an explosive athlete by any stretch of the imagination, but he's quick and he's pretty relentless when it comes to getting the ball into the paint. Anyone who has paid attention the last 5 years knows that our offense needs to be able to consistently get the ball into the paint to be at its best. Limiting our paint touches means you limit our ability to score in all the ways we like the most, i.e. kick out 3s, dunks, layups, and FTs.

Estrada was also really good rebounding out of the guard spot. I enjoyed his offensive bag, too, which you typically don't see out of dudes his age. Those little teardrops, lane pivot moves, bank fadeaways, etc. are things you usually only see out of that overweight 40-year-old dad playing pickup at the YMCA who somehow nobody can stop.

Oddly enough, the Bama Hoops community page on Twitter was the worst about it. People constantly questioned why he was starting, and called him out, of all players, as selfish and lazy. Pretty sure the dude led us in blue collar points this year (tough to do as a guard), and was far and away our best set-up man, so basically the opposite of lazy and selfish. A bad turnover every now and then turns you into "selfish" and "lazy", I guess...
