It just goes to show that with the right coach and a certain level of program-wide confidence that shakes away the losing/unsuccessful history of the program, any one can succeed and rise to the next level.

Winning in college football is 25% physical talent and recruits, 25% coaching, and 50% having the confidence you can beat anyone on any Saturday. At least when you're talking the upper half of P5 programs; the talent gaps in numbers may be vast on the recruiting sites but that is all subjective and has no real basis in fact.

3* recruits can outplay 5* recruits and win games against teams loaded with them, become Heisman and top player contenders, become top draft picks, and be successful in the NFL. It happens all the time.

All it takes for a program like Utah, or even Arkansas, is to shake the losing, lower tier, we're-not-a-blueblood and can't win on the big stage stigma

What’s sad is all most of our fans want is competency. We want to watch a game and not groan in disappointment. 8 win seasons with a play off birth every 5ish years shouldn’t be too much to ask for.
