Oh Proctor.
Just sacrifice a TE every play. I’m cool with it.

yeah…I’m thinking this. I think the LT play is our main problem.
The run blocking is actually slowly improving. We were gashing arky at end of 2nd and in the 3rd quarter, the blocking was pretty good. Then we abandoned the run on 3rd and 2 down near the goal. Go watch Travis Reier’s second watch video starting at the middle of the 2nd quarter thru the 3rd. He breaks down the blocking matchups pretty good.

We wouldn't even have to go that far if our OC was creative.
We could have the TE chip, then release late as a security valve.
We could motion the TE late to that side to chip quickly then get out on their route.
Different ways to address this issue but we need an OC who can think without Saban cattle prodding him (see 2nd half quick throw adjustments against A&M which Rees went away from... see 2nd half running the ball adjustment Rees went away from... etc).

It looks to be the only solution this season. It doesn't take but a couple of offensive series to easily recognize that the kid's SLOW footed, and his lack of lateral range can only be overcome with some TE help.
PS-Who, the HELL, evaluated him for a scholly offer?
