Why are y'all so poor that you have to come to the beach in October?

You are the 2nd person talking about not going to the beach in October. Just because you go to the beach in October doesn’t make you poor. There are multiple reasons why someone wouldn’t want to go to the beach during the summer.

Going to the beach now is more relaxing and don’t have to deal with the drunk college kids, or don’t have to be crowded on an over populated beach. Maybe some just like to go to the beach and relax and not have to deal with drama, drunk kids/young adults. Once you get a certain age, people start to calm down and just want to relax and not drink all week and be around a bunch of people you don’t know.

My wife owns a beachfront place and, as noted, October is my favorite month.

Yep. Post spring break-before school gets out and during the fall is the best time to go to the beach if you have a family.
