Really started catching fire the last few seasons and went wild during basketball season last year. The part people mainly care about is the frick KU at the end. We had some confused LSU fans around me and I explained that it's basically our new frick KU chant which is our most traditional and historical rival.

They only play it during commercial breaks because after it got on the Mizzou vs LSU broadcast last season in basketball they've been careful to censor us ever since.

Mr. Brightside on live broadcast

It got pretty wild at the Georgia home game last year too:

Dave Matter reports:

Mizzou DC Blaker Baker salutes the home crowd from Saturday's Georgia game, says he always thought he knew the words to "Mr Brightside" but "obviously I'm learning something new."
(You have to be at a game to know what he's talking about.)

I was at a wedding in St. Louis just over a week ago and the DJ played Mr. Brightside.

Over half the crowd chanted fku during the musical interlude. It warmed my heart a small bit.

Odd that you guys were too scared to play them last season given the amount of animosity you have and rent-free space they take in your minds...

I gotta admit that still doesn't really explain why "Mr Brightside" in particular. The "frick KU" part is not even part of the song or substituted in for any words in the chorus, it just appears to be something the fans started chanting after it was over, so couldn't you guys do that after just about any song?

I also don't really get chanting frick KU when you're playing a different team. Like if LSU is playing Bama it would be weird for the fans to start doing the "Geaux to Hell Ole Miss" chant.
