Being a "blue blood" has to do with a longevity of success -- you don't lose a "blue blood" status over the course of even a few years.

They still rank among the top 10 winningest programs of all time. They just haven't done a lot of it in the 2000's.

Exactly. There are 8 teams who lead CFB in nearly every statistic- until Nebraska starts falling below those 8 teams (and Georgia/Penn State are getting pretty close at this point), they're still a blue blood.
