Richt will host “The Chick-fil-A Dawg Bowl 2023" on Oct. 18 in Athens to benefit UGA research for Parkinson’s and Crohn’s disease.
Richt has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and he shared that his 9-year-old granddaughter, Jadyn, has Crohn’s disease.
There will be five championship belts awarded to winning teams at the event, including to Georgia players.
Richt quipped that back in his day, the NCAA likely would have applied penalties, such as a two-game suspension, drawing laughter from Smart and the media. "If I had to go back and do it again, it would be lie and deny."

I just watched his part of that press conference. He’s such a vibrant and warm guy. No matter how you feel about him and his coaching here, watching him shuffle on stage and struggle through his first words is heartbreaking.

It was great seeing him there, loved the shot he took at the NCAA!

I remember when he did the “Calling the Dawgs” in the pregame at the Missouri game a few years back and you could already see he was struggling to move fluidly.
Just awful

anyone that has hate for him and his tenure here, is not a true UGA fan. He is the epitome of class! And I love that he’s able to come back on a press conference and do this type along thing, along with Kirby loving every minute of it. Coach Richt is a class act, and so is Kirby

One of the classiest coaches of all time. We were lucky to have him. He set a good table for Kirby and came close to the top a few times himself.

Still pissed about AJ Green and Todd Gurley suspensions and don't blame em.
Johnny Manziel was caught red handed essentially doing the same at A&M and lied and lawyered up and the NCAA did nothing.
