talent report deal is overblown. Oklahoma doesn’t have great in state talent. Iowa damn sure doesn’t have great in state talent and they’d beat us like a drum if we played next Saturday. Also, it’s not the losses to more talented teams that pisses people off, it’s the losses to byu and liberty that piss people off and getting embarrassed by others that piss people off. A&M has more talent sure, but not so much to where we should’ve looked the way we did last Saturday. Also with the portal you can actually overcome not having great high school recruiting classes a lot easier in todays world. Besides Texas, Georgia, and Florida gets recruited by everyone now and kids are willing to go wherever the money takes them. Being from Texas doesn’t mean you won’t go to bama, Georgia, Clemson, Ohio state, etc. so it’s not like even schools that reside in the states with a ton of high school talent have as much of an inherent recruiting advantage the way they did 40 years ago because todays kids are more willing than ever to fly across country at 18. Not that big a deal when you can FaceTime mom and dad whenever and they can put life360 on your phone.
