Also notable that the current AD didn’t hire him. Arnett was hired by the president and interim AD in December, a day or two after Leach died. Selmon didn’t get hired as AD until January. So he has no attachment to the hiring of Arnett. It’s his show now and he may want to do his own thing.

That's a good point as well. I think he would have to go 4-8 to really begin considering letting him go. Do you think if he were to go 5-7 and not win Egg Bowl, would that be enough to keep him?

some realistic posts by State fans here, but I tried to warn you before the season.

Arnett sealed his fate by firing Leachs entire staff, that was obvious. yes he has an ego problem and manure for brains.

Ole Miss will donate Millions to States NIL fund if they will give Arnett an extension

I see the jeanspage cult still has some dead enders claiming “leach sucked”

5-7 with an Egg Bowl loss would depend on how bad the Egg Bowl loss was. If it’s a Sly Croom 2008 situation then heck yeah Arnett could get the boot. I firmly believe Croom was going to get another year until Ole Miss beat him 45-0. State fans take that game extremely seriously (arguably too much so). There were a not small amount of people that were ready to run Leach off if he had lost in Oxford last year, even though State would’ve still just been 7-5. Leach losing his first two EB’s reeeeallly bothered people, if it had gone to three then the situation could’ve been tense before he passed away.
