We didn't need a "stop gap," we had Lane Kiffin ready to come here, and we fricked him around, so he went to Ole Miss. Kiffin may or may not have worked out, or stayed if he was working out, but it was a hire that at least said "we care about football and win or lose, we're not mailing it in."

This has always been my most frustrating thing about our fans around Kiffin. So many didn’t want him because they think he would take the next big thing once we had success but yet they turned around and lauded the Pittman hire because he was a great stop gap coach to right the ship for the next coach. Umm wouldn’t Kiffin have done the exact same thing in your doomsday scenario? Better yet, he probably would have done it at a higher level.

The bigger kick to the nuts is that he’s shown absolutely zero interest in leaving Oxford and will probably win the West this year for the first time ever.

bullshite.

The fans had nothing to do with not getting Kiffin. That’s 100% the fault of Yurachek pissing away a 3 month coaching search, trying to hire on the cheap, and thinking it’s still 1982 and handshake agreements are still a ‘thing.’

The fact that we shite the bed with Kiffin/Sexton is 100% Yurachek’s fault and he needs to be held accountable for it.

Huh?

He played footsie all season with Auburn last year, and was headed there before their dumbass boosters did what they always do.

He’s constantly calling out their fans and boosters for not being more committed to the collective. He’s raised his skirt every off-season to other suiters.

We had Kiffin, Sanders, and Norvell on the hook wanting the job when it was open, and blew it with all of them for stupid reasons.

That will always rub me the wrong way. Yurachek is a damn great AD otherwise, I hope he learned from that whole experience. When it comes to hiring football coaches, winning is the only thing that really matters. You don't need a saint that's a people pleaser with a spotless background, you just need to WIN.

Like I said, I hope he learned his lesson for this next go-round. It might be coming sooner than later
