It possible due to age differences and I believe Kirby’s wife was his girl in college years.
My guess is something related to Frank Beamer in Kirby’s early coaching days at GA as it relates to Shane

They met while Kirby was on Richt's staff, and she was working in the athletic department after her playing career was over.

Kirby and Shane have known each other and hung out for years at Lake Okonee (Kirby and Shane's dad has had a place there for years)
Pretty sure they're still close
