Milroe did not have a good game by any stretch of the imagination but begging him to be Peyton Manning was foolish. If we had Sark Milroe would’ve looked like a totally different Quarterback. He cannot read a defense going through progressions. He’s a RPO qb and a deep ball qb only. We called no roll outs to get him on the edge throwing on the run.
I like Rees and he drew up some beautiful plays.
Disappointed in the d line, Roydell, and the o line.

quote:Yes we did. He didn’t complete passes, and their secondary was really good. Didn’t help that he relied on single read.

quote:Rees did fine, but got away from running too early. The defense was fine, IMO, but the O-Line and QB have a looooooong way to go if they want to dictate terms.

He’s not an RPO quarterback. To run RPO as a QB you need to be able to make accurate and fast reads, and then deliver an accurate ball in the 5-10 yard depth of the middle third.
Milroe can do neither of those things.

On the D - Sark did to us what he used to do for us.
He was careful and specific while probing our D and identifying the weaknesses. In the 4th qtr he attacked those same weaknesses over and over.
He used formations and movement to Isolate #3 on their best WR then torched him several times.
He attacked #6 with speed several times.
When #13's ankle got sore and he was not able to change directions well, Sark attacked him.
Sark used eye candy and motions/shifts to get #2 looking in the backfield then attacked him.

As for our O
Texas knew the weaknesses we had on the Oline
He attacked C/RG and over powered them. That killed our inside run game eventually.
They hit LT with a speed rush he could not handle
They knew our QB had no intermediate passing threat. They knew he looked at his primary read as soon as he got under center (both run and pass) then took that away from him just before the snap. A 1 read QB and a DC taking that away from him 75% of the time is a problem.
When they had our QB watching the rush and not following progression, they stacked the box and took away most of our running game. Running game compromised, no intermediate passing game, one read QB, QB giving away the play plan before the snap...At that point the Oline had no chance.
Late 4th qtr, the Dline for Texas was in more of a containment mode. Texas was jumping our shorter passing game and Milroe hit a few deep passes. Two TD's to our #3 were called back. Milroe was dead meat waiting for their dogs to drag him into the woods for dinner.
