That is some ungrateful a-hole, turning on the family that taught him to eat, read, and play football.

That story is so much BS. It’s a typical Disney movie. The Tuohy family is not a good family at all. They didn’t take him in until they knew he was a star football player and he spent just as much time at other people’s houses in that school

Except he’d been eating for about 15 years, had been making acceptable grades and playing football for about a year before he met them. Anyone who thinks there ain’t a huge gap between the feel good story of the movie and the actual motivation of the “parents” is naive as hell. Parents have been stealing their kids wealth since time out of mind….these people weren’t even his parents, by birth or adoption.

Ole Miss Tuohy taught him to read.

Ole Massa Tuohy taught him to tie his shoes.

This is not reality, you are basing your opinion on a fictional movie. Oher was already a top football recruit when the Touhys brought him in, clearly in order to steer him toward their alma mater, Ole Miss. Don't be fooled by the Hollywood spin.
