Man, I remember that first quarter I moved into Hill Hall June of 1990. I was so homesick I could hardly move. Luckily the dorms then were great. Everyone kept their door open and we just hung out and played guitar and listened to music. Once fall rolled around a bunch of my friends started joining fraternities and I had decided it wasn't for me. I went to some of the Church groups on campus like Baptist Student Union which was cool. My nephew did the Wesley foundation. I was living in Myers at the time which was not a social dorm. I switched to Russell Hall and a group of us on our hall become really tight and are still friends to this day. One other thing to look at are the academic fraternities; they have varying levels of social activities. I joined the Business frat which was basically like a co-ed frat. My niece did some type of international studies frat which she really liked. The other thing that a friend of mine did that was really fun was GORP(Georgia outdoor recreation program). They did a lot of outdoor activities and trips. Then there is also intramural sports.
