UNC Leadership Favors SEC

Insiders on the UNC boards say that leadership wants the SEC over the Big Ten. This includes Mack Brown, Hubert Davis, and the AD. They're also apparently ready to leave when a way out of the GOR is found.

Would take them over Free Shoes U and Auburn with a lake anyday of the week

I'm wondering if a group of 8 have the votes to leave the ACC and all are set to join the SEC. A group of:
(1) Miami
(2) FSU
(3) Clemson
(4) UNC
(5) Duke
(6) NC State
(7) VT
(8) UVA
Would get the SEC to 24 teams and completely block the Big 10 from being able to get into the southern market.
ETA: Money wise, the ACC falls so ESPN is off the hook there. They roll that money into a new SEC contract with that money going to those 8 former ACC schools. They come in as partial members at $50 mil a year and get full membership next media deal.
ESPN gets better content for the exact same amount of money they are currently spending

Good for them, but does the SEC want them?

National writers have said that they want UNC/UVA.

UNC would be the most beneficial choice as of right now.

How would that completely block the southern market? Last I looked, North Avenue was still in ATL.

Big 10 adding GT to get into the southern market would be as effective as the SEC adding Pitt to try to get into Big 10 territory.

(1) Miami - B12
(2) FSU - SEC
(3) Clemson - SEC
(4) UNC - SEC
(5) Duke - big east
(6) NC State - B12
(7) VT - SEC either or with UVA
(8) UVA - SEC/B10 either or with VT

(3) Clemson - SEC
(4) UNC - SEC
(5) Duke - big east
(6) NC State - B12
(7) VT - SEC either or with UVA
(8) UVA - SEC/B10 either or with VT

Why would Duke or NC State vote to end the GOR in that situation? To get the 8 votes, all 8 need to be sure they end up where they want.

True. The ACC already added Pitt and Syracuse for their "markets". Didn't help.

It makes as much sense as all of this nonsense.
However, I was simply pointing out that the dude above left them out of his equation.

They won't. It's going to be tough to get out of GOR. I'm not sure how it's going to work.

All 8 schools have to be safe. The easiest way to do that is all 8 join the same conference in one swoop. I think the SEC makes more sense than the Big 10 in that respect.

I doubt the SEC wants 8 though, right? There is also the question of whether 8 is enough, which nobody has a definitive answer to (until a judge rules on it).

If your choice is that or risk the Big 10 adding FSU, Clemson, UNC, and one other leaving you with the ACC scraps I think you take all 8
