Notre Dame.

Anyone opposed to taking Notre Dame needs their head examined. The odds of them coming to the SEC over joining the Big Ten/remaining independent seem incredibly slim, but they're far and away the most sought after "available" school and likely the only program outside of the 2024 Big Ten that would actually boost the SEC payout.

I see you've never been to South Bend. Or interacted on anything close to a daily basis with Notre Dame fans.

All the trolling that Texas fans do here ? That really is how Notre Dame thinks of themselves. I wouldn't care if they were the most valuable team on the planet ... no thanks. Go elsewhere.

But go ahead, schedule them Vols. Then tell me how great it is to hear them bitch about Neyland the entire time they're there. Because that's what Notre Dame does.

ND has strong numbers, but not strong enough that we need a team that plays five miles from the Michigan state line. They'd be a better fit for the Big Ten if the ACC implodes, and there are ACC teams that would be a better fit in the SEC, if we decided to expand again (which I hope doesn't happen soon, and really shouldn't until the ACC's fate is decided when their grant of rights gets closer to expiring in 2036). As long as they can get an at large bid to the playoff, and have ACC access for scheduling their other sports, I don't think they are going to join a conference.
