This thing has been in the works for 18 months at least. Many conference commissioners, school presidents/AD's and actual coaches have had input on the drafting of the bill.

Whether it passes or not is yet to be determined, but it is certainly a step to place accountability on both the school and the student-athlete while bringing more focus on the academic aspects of being a student-athlete.
