I think Atlanta is good as they recently met with native american tribes and got their blessing, as I understood it.

However if the MLB forced the Braves to change their names from "Braves", I'd be out. If the word "Braves" is offensive, we're doomed. Just let China in and let's all begin learning Mandarin.

The really sad thing is, the team name really is only tangentially connected native Americans to begin with. When the team was in Boston, one of the owners (James Gaffney) had been/was/had connections to a member of New York's Tammany Hall political machine. Tammany Hall politicians were known as Braves because the organization was named after Chief Tamanend of the Lenape tribe of Delaware.

If it happened (or happens) I'd still be a fan of the team, but doubt I would get anything with the new name/logo on it and depending on how assholish they were about fans wearing "Braves" gear might never go to another game.
