2000 SC over #5/#7 UGA in Columbia. (-24)

SC won 21-10.

We had just ended a 21 game losing streak by beating NMSU the week before. It was Holtz's second year. Ended up being the biggest turnaround (8 games) in NCAA history.

SC Soph tackle Dennis Quinn (a DT mind you) had three interceptions against Carter/UGA that day just by standing-up and dropping back into coverage while we sent our LBs.

Derek Watson, Andrew Pinnock and Ryan Brewer were all soph RBs.

There were 14 future NFLers on that SC roster and two or three pro bowlers if I remember correctly ... 2 in the secondary alone.

UGA was loaded with Quincy Carter (probably the fav to win the Heisman at the time) and a shitton of future NFL guys.

That was my worst loss.

Scar hadn't won a game in the prior season.

Quincy wasn't a frontrunner for the Heisman. But he was supposed to be the best QB in the conference.

5 punts (instead of 5 INTs) and we win.

It was crushing.
