Interesting article on Georgia's "fixer".
When Georgia Football Players Are Accused Of Crimes, This Fixer Shows Up
quote:
Followers of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's recent reporting on Georgia football know one name all too well: Bryant Gantt. According to Georgia's website, his official title on coach Kirby Smart's staff is "director of player wellness," though a cursory glance of his bio denotes some, shall we say, non-traditional skills for a member of a college football staff. Previously, according to his own official bio, Gantt worked for 19 years at a law firm in Athens as a legal assistant, investigator, and process server, and his duties include "providing advice and counsel to student-athletes." It seems he has been providing a lot of those services recently.
Let's begin with an AJC story from Feb. 3 by reporter Alan Judd. It covered the night a fatal car crash killed football staff member Chandler LeCroy and player Kevin Willock. (The Ford Expedition driven by LeCroy had been racing another vehicle, driven by Jalen Carter, a standout defensive tackle since drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles.) As Judd reported, it was not a police officer who called the Athens police chief to tell him what had happened. It was Gantt. Judd's report called Gantt "an employee of Georgia’s football program who frequently intercedes when players run afoul of the law." Everything you need to know about how Gantt's job works is on display in the following dispatch conversation, first reported by the AJC:
“Bryant Gantt, who is on the coaching staff, is on his way out there,” [Athens-Clarke County Police Chief Jerry] Saulters said about 3:10 a.m. Jan. 15, less than half an hour after the crash. He told the dispatcher to let officers know Gantt was coming, “so they can talk with him and kind of tell him what’s going on.”
“And he does what, exactly?” the dispatcher asked.
“He takes care of all player relations stuff,” Saulters said. “He’ll be out so they can talk to him.”

You're a bit late. This story has already been disproven with many falsehoods put forward by the journalist that were either out of context or flat made up. AJC will likely have to retract it soon.
The journalist in question has done this in the past.

Every single athletic department including little community colleges have a staff member who you save in your contacts as the person you call when you frick up. Gannt is UGA's. Auburn, Bama, Tenn, USC, Mizzou, all have this position.

He's a douche canoe who probably already knows that.

Fixer has a lot of broad definitions.
But if you think the university of Tennessee gets called by an athlete with law enforcement and ignores that call, then I would like for you to explain to recruits' parents why.

I think this is Luna Freak's new username. Or the General guy.
He was RA'd multiple times for blatant racism, no punishment.
LewDawg said publicly that Luna Freak would be handled "differently" by the top brass.
Now Stoic Rogue is being handled differently by top brass.
There is frickery afoot.

You Dawg fans have made 50 threads about Tennessee in the past 3 days.
Now somebody makes one about UGA and you pussies are all upset.
Championships can't buy class or integrity, and the University of Georgia is a shining example of it.

You are vulgar. Your parents should’ve done a better job, I bet they are filled with shame and regret when they think of you.

So you think reposting a story that has been proved to be false is classy on your part?
Hmmm.
I'm sorry, but this is a nothing burger. The University called the paper out on it and the paper has realized their reporter fabricated quotes and presented falsehoods as fact. The University has proven this.
Trying to push it as real when you know it isn't is not classy. And calling you on your falsehoods is not a lack of class. You earned that all on your own.
Tennessee actually DID forfeit games. Their University accepted the wrongdoing that was reported. UGA refuted what was reported about them and presented evidence showing it was made up. Your team deserves their call out. UGA doesn't.
Shame on you.

You see how easy that is to talk about people's parents behind a keyboard? That tells me there isn't much to your sorry arse.
It's an article get over it.

Surely every major program has a guidance counselor on the staff to assist these kids, esp out of state ones, in times of need.

That is a long way from "disproved".

UGA denying it does not mean every word is not true.
PROOF!! Show it or STFU.

His narrative has been disputed and disproven.
His integrity has been questioned, and he might be losing his job over it.
