LSU had good DB’s in 2018/19. Delpit and Sting were exceptional, everyone else adequate. We haven’t been DBU in a while and most of it is Raymond’s fault. Too many misses in recruiting and not a hood enough coach to elevate under talented kids. Ironically , Raymond’s fall began when he whiffed on Surtain. He passed on other kids because he told the staff Surtain was a lock. He also whiffed on Brown. Delpit , Sting, and C Fulton were his only big recruiting wins from 2015—2020. Perfect example is Jay Ward. Great kid. Good player. He was the best DB at LSU for three straight seasons. Solid player, but not dominant. Tolliver, Savion Smith, Ricks—-all busts.

That's because LSU hasn't come close to putting a Les Miles defense on the field since he left. You wanted offense and you got it. But your defense has been chasing ever since.
