He’s right. The players should unionize. The NIL collective stuff with transfers is going to be such a legal headache. The players need to negotiate terms on how these things work with schools.

The stupidity coming out of Saban’s mouth, and people agreeing with him, is simply astounding.

Student-Athletes are NOT employees of the university. They are Students! How do you unionize when there are no employees to form a union?????

NIL will, ultimately, be the ruination of college football. All the supposed adults in the room, Saban, Sankey, etc, have no clue on how to manage it. The fact they want congress involved shows how utterly ignorant and confused everyone is on this topic.

What the new, more professionalized version of college football really needs is a draft, salary cap and restricted free agency, just like all the other pro sports. That'll bring more parity to the sport.

I think it would be great. The same handful of teams wouldn't get the pick of the litter every single year. Sky high recruiting budgets would be redirected to nationwide scouting. The ridiculous facility arms race would end, too.
