My prediction is that somehow they find a way for the shotgun marriage to work to certain extent for a season. If Petrino is allowed control, he will pull some offensive miracles out of his heinie and make it look good

Thr problem is when he gets the credit and JImbo cannot live with it. Then the power struggle starts and the claim of "no, I was responsible for this" starts coming from both of them. They are both people with big egos that need to be appeased.

Temporarily, it may work. But A and M better hope they strike quickly. There is no big build between the two of them coming.

Bobby Petrino giving his undivided attention to being the OC is dangerous. It is what he does best. Given that the old regime is beating LSU, badly, I get all this purple flexing.

One of the most interesting games this season will happen week 2 in Miami. With the changes that both coaches made, neither Jimbo nor Cristobal can afford to lose that game. If that aggies screw that one up, I think we see some sidelines fireworks right then.

I would say the best-case scenario is that Bobby turns the offense around and Bobby/Jimbo can work w/each other for two years, giving the team one year to really learn the system so they can go into year two w/a seasoned Conner Weigman leading the show.

If that happens and A&M is successful in year two Bobby would be able to get a decent FBS HC gig again which is likely his ultimate goal.
