What is the qualification to join the Big 6?

Winning the SECCG since it's inception in the early 90s. You cab go one step further and say teams that have won the SECCG and a natty since the SECCG started. Still the same 6 teams.

Goes beyond SECCG in the 90's. The Big Six in the SEC begins in 1964. It is the six teams that have outright won the SEC since that year. It also has nothing to do with BCS, or national titles.
Kentucky was given a "retroactive" share of the SEC in 1976 after Mississippi State was forced to forfeit it's wins for the '76 and '77 season for using an ineligible player. Ky lost to State 14-7 in '76, and UGA defeated KY 31-7 that year.
UGA was 5-1 and Ky was actually 4-2 in the SEC, but because the loss to State was taken away and a "win" was given they have a "5-1" record for that season, giving them the same record as UGA in the SEC; and hence, the tie/co-championship, though UGA has the tie-breaker.
