You are posting this thread within months of Saban landing, by far, the top recruiting class.
Talent isn't the problem at Alabama, it's the slip in the coaching and the bad culture which have lead to the Tide's downturn.

The problem at Alabama was the change in philosophy. In 2016 Bama went all spread, RPO bullshite. Soft football. Kirby showed you can still get in the I formation. The style Saban was comfortable with. Kirby learned everything he knows from Nick. Bama lost it's edge at the LOS by spending so much time on pass blocking. What you see in Athens is what you saw in Ttown 2008-2015.
