Dumb question, but couldn't the baseball and softball teams just share a stadium? MBB and WBB shares an arena, I don't see why baseball and softball can't share a stadium. Schedule the softball games around the baseball games.

Baseball plays for example Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Softball can play Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Or Baseball plays Monday afternoon and Softball plays Monday night or whatever.

Is there a reason that works for MBB/WBB but can't for baseball/Softball?

Well, the fields are very different dimensions so temporary fencing would be needed. Softball doesn’t have a mound, so that would need to be addressed, and no baseball team wants to deal with a removable mound. And softball is played on an all dirt infield, where as baseball is very much not.

And when you’re playing series, you can’t just be like, well, we’re gonna play every other day. That messes up your opponent’s schedule.

In short, that’s a really dumb idea haha
