On a micro scale, sure. But if a coach/program develops a reputation of being unreliable in their information pre-draft then it taints all players coming out for future classes. NFL teams are in the business of knowing who they’re investing in, both pros and cons. If you can’t be honest about who a kid is including their flaws then you’re doing everyone a disservice
Why is it a college coaches job to tell the scout anything? Again Dabo or any coach should be looking out for the kid.

I’m not sure thats the scouts point
Sounds to me he is saying dabo as created an environment for his players where they are coddled and do not take accountability
This is not a problem for some of the freakish athletes they get when it comes to getting drafted. But it may become an issue when evaluating those borderline guys or when a team is evaluating multiple players for a pick. Whether it’s fair or not, whether it’s Clemson or not, Certain programs do develop reputations amongst scouts and general managers that can negatively affect a teams desire to want to draft guys from a certain schools

In theory, it’s not. But when you’re at Clemson or UGA or Bama or LSU your job is to win championships. Can’t win championships if you don’t have proven success sending guys to the league and you’re not going to have as much relative success sending guys to the league if the league doesn’t trust your information.
Coaches play ball with scouts because it can directly fuel their draft success which in turn fuels their recruiting success.
Being honest with scouts about a guy’s flaws doesn’t mean you’re downgrading your own players. Every guy in the draft has flaws. If anything, it helps them land with a team that thinks they can work with or improve those flaws which means future success in the League that can be touted later. Being dishonest or covering up a guys flaws just makes your program look I’ll equipped to get guys where they need to be to have success
