Absolutely. 2011-2012 Bama is what modern day Uga is right now.

I don't think I could ever compare these Georgia teams to one of the greatest defenses to ever see the field in 2011 or one of the best OLines/running games in 2012. They're very balanced, but I'm not sure where that particular comparison came from.

They play with confidence, discipline, toughness and with a mean streak. They have that attitude that they’re not going to lose like Bama had in 11-12.

2011 Bama defense was the best defense that’s ever stepped on the field imo. Beat the hell outta LSu which was a damn good team.

I don't think it's a statistical or talent comparison, but what I think when people say this, is that it's a philosophical comparison. Play aggressive defense, rely less on splash plays, dominate control of the game with the run game, don't overly lean on the QB and protect them so they can deliver critical throws when necessary.

That's not been Bama's M.O. for the past few season. We've been leaning on elite Quarterback play, dynamic offense and bend but don't break... well, with Golding, bend but still break defense.

When folks say that Georgia today is Bama from '11 and '12 it's team mindset and approach more than a specific 1:1 look at both teams.

We won't look like we have the last couple of years and in many ways that might be a good thing.

It all starts on the OL and there's a chance we might be very very good. Physical and huge. And we will have a stable of backs to run behind them. Not to mention the pressure a QB like Milroe can put on a defense. Mobile QB's have driven us crazy over the years well now we have one.

Opponents are going to have to bring a safety down to help stop the run and that should help the passing game.
