5 years/$255 million

Insane. Probably will be the biggest for a few weeks with the way the NFL spends money.

All those times watching him throw into the stands while at Bama, I never would have ever imagined he'd get to this level. Always liked him, but definitely thought Tua was the better college QB. What a story. Happy for him...but kinda risky of Philly after just one elite season.

He was a second round pick, which means no 5th year option. It's a much bigger risk to let him go into the final year of his rookie deal without a long term contract. If he backs up last year with another MVP caliber season and then walks because they slow played him in contract negotiations the entire FO might find themselves out of work.

Very happy for the kid. Would have never guessed in a million years that this would happen after watching him struggle his last year at Bama.

He was hard to watch until the back end of his last season. Truly hard to believe.

Like a lot of Bama fans I love Jalen, but most people that are honest never thought he would be an NFL QB. I was one of them and am very happy to be wrong. It's amazing how he's gotten better every year since his time at Bama.

Be careful, the sunshine pumpers on here will castigate you for having any doubts about a current or former player. They all knew he would be an All-Pro level QB years ago.

Count me as one who never thought this would happen, but couldn’t be happier for Jalen. He has worked for it and deserves it.

This is why I will never say never about Milroe.

You go Jalen. Couldn’t happen to a better person. Unbelievable what he has achieved; hope he goes on and wins a Super Bowl.

Also bad news for 49’er fans; Brock Purdy thinks he may not play this year because of his injury.

My how things have changed!

I remember the scandal when Joe Namath signed a four year contract for $470,000.

he didn't struggle his last year at bama, he was quite good, he just couldn't beat out tua. He struggled his first 2 years at bama as a passer. In 2018 as tuas backup he completed 73% of his passes for 8 tds 2 ints, 196.67 qb rating. The narrative that he learned to pass at Oklahoma is wrong, he got good as a passer at bama under enos that year before he transferred

That was the year they added the 10th assistant to the staff. Saban added a dedicated QB outside of the OC specifically for Jalen. Enos was like a person QB coach for Jalen in 2018.

When he won the SECCG vs UGA I knew he would be drafted in the NFL.

He had 3 different OCs during his three seasons at BAMA. Probably learned the most under Dan Enos, the only year Saban hired a dedicated QB coach.

Going to the Big 12 probably slowed the game down for him considerably. Also the Riley offense is much more simple than what BAMA runs. But it allowed Jalen to showcase his passing skills.

He seems to be one hell of a team mate and a good person. Hope he gets another record contract in 4-5 years.

ETA: Would really like to get his honest opinion on the best OC he worked with at BAMA, doubt he would answer.

2016– Freshman, Kiffin did nothing to really develop him. He may have set the record for pass yardage originated behind the line of scrimmage.

2017- Daboll is obviously damn good (he was then as well) but wanted Tua

2018- Tua was entrenched starter, but RPO offense (Eagles finally bought in) and dedicated QB coach seemed to really help Jalen in his limited appearances.

It took the Eagles two seasons to figure it out. I will say that probably my favorite thing about watching him play is how deceptively fast he is. And of course the power to go for it on 4th & 1 and convert. Also, just rarely ever gets rattled.
