For the Rebs:

quote:

Are you happy with the QB situation?

Yes. We have three talented QBs, two of whom have ample experience.

quote:

Do you have serious issues or concerns at any of the skill positions?

Yes. Maybe we were spoiled by great WR play under Freeze and Luke, but a gamebreaker WR or TE (or two) could've meant the difference in a few games for the Rebs in both 2021 and 2022. Injuries have played a part too.

quote:

Is the Oline lineup looking to move around a bunch this summer?

Yes. We lost a couple of good OLmen but should replace them with talent. We have depth along the entire line, something we can thank Matt Luke for.

quote:

Are you looking for contributors anywhere from the portal?

Yes. We desperately need some depth at DL and LB, preferably dudes who are sure tacklers. Tackling was something we excelled at in 2021 but regressed last season. The pass rush also regressed.

quote:

How was the front seven looking?

Poor. See above.

quote:

Are you happy with the DB depth?

Our secondary should be a top half unit in the conference. They need to tackle better in space though. But it doesn't matter how good they are if we can't pressure the QB.

quote:

Are you changing the scheme much?

Yes. We brought in Pete Golding to man the defense. Offensively, we need to be less predictable (although our coordinators remain the same).

quote:

Any impact injuries?

Not that I am aware of. Fingers crossed/knock on wood.

quote:

Any new coaches you are concerned about?

I am hoping Pete Golding can work with our defense on the basics - being in the right place and tackling well.

quote:

Overall are you happy with the state of the team at the end of spring?

Yes. I think we will have a good season in 2023.

From watching Bama the last few years, I don't think "the basics" are really one of Pete's strong suits.
