2 permanent opponents also create a weird imbalance in the non-permanent rotation (8 non-perm series rotating between 13 schools).

You could fix it by having 5 permanents and 5 rotating (between 10 schools) and still playing everybody every other year.

to be fair, there already is a weird imbalance. Right now you play 6 permanent series against your division and then rotate the remaining 4 series among the 7 from the opposite division with no real rhyme or reason as to why. For instance, since the 2012 expansion LSU has had series with Florida in 2022, 2019, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012. And they've played UGA in 2022, 2019, 2017, 2014, and 2012. They've had series against Tennessee in 2021, 2018, 2016, and 2014. So 7x against Florida, 5x against UGA, and 4x against Tennessee. It's been seemingly completely random who you play in the other division.
