Man, now we have to do 1,000 permanent opponent threads for baseball, too

Seems unnecessary to mess with baseball because you’d still play a series with every team in the conference within 3 years (almost everyone after 2 years) keeping divisions. There obviously aren’t as many baseball fans but the fans there are care a lot about certain series, especially in the SEC West. I really don’t want to see LSU lose Ole Miss, Arkansas, or State from the yearly schedule. I imagine LSU would get State and Ole Miss if they are to create 2 permanent series.

I'd honestly prefer we go to playing 11 SEC series a year and keep everything else as is. You'd have your 7 permanents from your division and you'd play all 8 from the opposite division every 2 years.

That would create a nice little pod of 3. I kind of doubt it plays out like that though.

2 permanent opponents also create a weird imbalance in the non-permanent rotation (8 non-perm series rotating between 13 schools).

You could fix it by having 5 permanents and 5 rotating (between 10 schools) and still playing everybody every other year.
