Actually, the head coach was unhappy about scholarship limits (the 140 rule). Which, ironically, was changing quickly as it turned out. But I can't think of one college team that changed their fortunes more by leaving a conference than GaTech. And all because of the emotions of one man, Bobby Dobbs. He hated BAMA.
