If he read the text, he would know Miles wanted his gun for a reason. That would show he had knowledge that Miles intended to use it. Otherwise why would Miles even text him to bring it. You can't parse the two.

This is woefully incorrect

You can read the text Miles sent, and still not think he was going to use the gun, much less use it for murder

His text did not say “I need my gun to kill someone”.

A defense attorney can easily say “yeah he read the text but he didn’t KNOW others actually intended on using the weapon.”
