Why not make him the Friday night starter using whichever arm (for the entire outing) is best based on the lineup he's facing and then turn around and throw him on Sunday with the arm he didn't use on Friday? That's a twofer.

Because pitching is a full body thing. Your legs and the rest of your body could not handle all that two days apart.

He will have a bigger pitch count than a normal pitcher though, but doing two starting outings in three days is too much on the body.
