Yeah, it seems like they were trying to do just that — the brief "Alliance" between the ACC, Big Ten, and Pac-12 was interesting.

In 2021 those three ended up being the only dissenters against a 12-team CFP happening in this current contract, in part (again) citing revenue distributions and the TV contract.

And then like a year later, their friendship seems to have dissolved.

Folks keep thinking the narrative is about expanding but in reality realignment is about contraction.

Big East + B1G + Big 12 + ACC + SEC + PAC is now without the BE and if the B12 and PAC merge there will be some dead weight to cull there.
