Don't think this post was referring to you Alfie. More likely it was referring to certain posters who tend to tell people to go play in traffic or make childish sexual references when they don't have an actual response. I honestly don't know why they haven't been banned.

There are a couple of posters on here who used to be fairly level-headed and enjoyable, and are now (in my opinion) almost completely the opposite. It's almost as though their teenage child has gotten their account info and is posting as them.
I'm less than excited about the coordinator hires, as well, but Saban has forgotten more about football than I'll ever know, so I'll remain hopeful. I can still remember the message-board excitement when Saban first hired Steele (with folks having signatures like "Defense forged from STEELE!" and such). It's pointless to wring our collective hands over either hire until we see what sort of product they put on the field.
On the overall topic of trolls here: This is an LSU-based site at its core. In my opinion, LSU has maybe the greatest percentage of unhinged and on-the-fringe segments of their fanbase of any major school. Not all, by any stretch, but there's a lot of them. Since we're one of their chief rivals, they seem to delight in spending time mocking us and doing whatever they can to get under our skin. I don't really understand the appeal of that approach, but it's par for the course here.

The hires are fine. It's still always all about the jimmys and joes...I think we had some misses in recruiting for whatever reason over the last few cycles and we're starting to funnel those guys out. I think top to bottom our roster resembles what the Bama of old used to look like with the talent returning and the talent coming in.
Now we just need that talent developed. Golding didn't do a good job in that area. Our ILB play was dumpster tier.
Steele can help develop these guys. He brings leadership. He brings fundamentals and physicality.
When it comes to OC we have an elite system in place already. Just need a good college play caller and a guy to develop our young QBs. Rees can handle that.
Where we need to improve is blocking at all levels. OL, WR and TE needs to get better holding blocks. I like our O line next year and it's potential to get back to pushing ppl around like we did in 2020.
The best offense we ever had was in 2020. We could run it down your throat or pass it all over the yard. I'd like to get back to that level of efficiency. Easier said than done, though.
