Personally, I have reservations about it because he is relatively inexperienced.

Rees has 3 seasons as OC and 6 as a QB coach.
Applewhite had 1 yr as OC.
McElwain had 5 yrs as OC at 1-AA, 1 yr at 1-A
Nussmeier had 4 yrs as OC
Kiffin had 2 yrs as OC
Daboll had 4 yrs as OC
Locksley had 8 yrs as OC
Sarkisian had 4 yrs as OC
O'Brien had 5 yrs as OC, 7 calling plays, 6 as HC.

So Rees is not much less experienced as OC than most whom Saban has hired, just younger. He has more experience than 2 and just 1 year less than 3 more. He probably has more general intelligence than all but maybe O'Brien (Brown grad in a real major), if not all, though that doesn't always translate, but it rarely hurts.

These hires have done one thing for me, I’m no longer going to be that koolaid drinking fan that believes we wind up in playoffs every single season despite the reality in front of my own eyes.

I expected it last season despite how glaringly obvious it should have been that the team wasn’t capable.

I hope I’m wrong, I will be thrilled if I’m wrong.
