It's an unspectacular hire, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was a bad hire. Time will tell us that. He might turn out to be the best young offensive mind in college football.

Think of it this way. (I am borrowing from other posts you have made in this thread) Rees wanted (apparently) to leave ND. He left for a better school(Football wise) but what is essentially a lateral move. Money? maybe. I suspect Freeman did not give him complete control of the offense so he wanted out. So his not "utilizing his WR's" enough or any of the other criticisms that have been noted may not have been a failing on his part, but in keeping with his hands being tied at ND.

Just a thought.

It remains to be seen whether he will be worth the money, but Monken must like it, because, it may get him 3mil
