BOB may not have been to the level you wanted, but the stats certainly don't say he was a bad OC. Does Bama have so much talent that a bad OC would look good there? I don't think so.

I would actually say yes for the most part. Against good defenses we either lost or struggled to put enough points to win the game. Anybody that watched UA this year even outside of our fans would argue without Young we are a 5 or 6 loss team. Our offense got lucky this year because of Young and very little to do with BOB.

Optimistic yes because we have the talent on offense for a decent OC to be successful but the real concern is going to be the DC hire. Our defense has been awful and if we do not hit a homerun on that hire we are in trouble. Just a slightly better defense and we were in Atlanta and the playoffs.

This year you lost a game where you scored 49 points and 31 points in OT.

Bryce, trying to make a play, actually cost you three by throwing an endzone pick vs. LSU. Maybe win that game if he doesn't.

Bryce may have made him look better than he was, but again, the numbers are near the top of the conference in almost any way you want to look at it. (All games, games against good teams, etc.)

He wasn't Kiffin or Sark, (two guys considered elite currently as OCs), but he wasn't trash. It's relative to what you had, but what you had before is not easy to find.

I'd compare it to when people say Mark Richt was average. He was very good. Not a lot of coaches can do what he did, even at a place like Georgia. But Kirby is elite, so that kind of taints how Richt is seen.
