All this talk about LSU giving us the game.............

Not many people talking about Bama's three turnovers. The two penalties (holding and unsportsmanlike) were a 14 point swing. We missed two field goals. Not to mention I felt like Julio missed two deep balls that would've really changed the game.
I think it's lost on a lot of people that we didn't play very well either. Doesn't really matter we are still undefeated and headed to Atlanta.

You're right. We lost you won.

we also fumbled the ball into the endzone.

Both teams goofed. LSU D looked pretty good though.

I agree. Y'all defended our running game particularly well.

You got those points right back.

I still hold to the thought that the unsportsmanlike made no difference on that first LSU TD drive. The kick return was a nice one and LSU marched down field fairly easily. The holding call is not a swing of any points: it was a blatant holding (though not as blatant as those that were uncalled on the 2 previous plays) that kept the closest person to making a play from being able to.

Julio is a hell of a player, but LSU's coverage was pretty good. Peterson did a hell of a job. I don't remember a deep ball where Julio was wide open and just missed it, someone was usually there to disrupt it.

Alabama was clearly the better team, that holding call was bullshite.. The score looked a lot better than it actually was. LSU will be back though, just not this year.

you can't call the unsportsmanlike penalty a 7 point swing. that's just idiotic. lsu still drove down the field, they MIGHT have had to go about 20-25 yards further but you can't automatically assume they wouldn't have. your player also shouldn't have held alem, who very well could have caught wilson before he broke that run. alem is fast, easily the fastest DL LSU has had in a good while. this thread is stupid.

i don't know what game you watched but it was pretty clear to me LSU was the better team overall just lacking at QB. danielson definitely agreed from his commentary

Feel free to explain how when it's clear the o-lineman is off to the side and behind, yet yanking the d-lineman back and down. It was not the worst holding, but it looked like a clear case of it nonetheless.

It was called on the LT who was nowhere near the play. Either way it was called and it took a run that either put us on the one yard line or scored off the board.

We'll just have to disagree on this one. Having called plays before it's much easier to call them when your drive start is in the middle of the field. If anything it took all our momentum away.

The first one a safety was trying to get over the top and wouldn't have made it with either a ball on a line in the hole (a la Brett Favre) or if Julio keeps running and adjust to the ball better. The second one he had the corner beat badly and the ball just went thru his hands or right past them. Either way they are both balls that we need him or another receiver to make a play. We need D. Byrd.

It was holding. It's just frustrating for all fans when it's called some plays and not others.. Just part of the game....

Then why respond?
The point is Alabama didn't play their best game. It's not like the Tigers took our best shot. That is being overlooked because a freshman QB threw 4 int's with 2 of those being tipped.
I'm just getting fed up that Tards are blaming the loss on a 19 year old kid.

to counter the illogical statements in this thread. if you want to gripe about point swings that could have happened or should have happened you have some legit points with things like the player fumbling into the endzone and arenas' fumble. the unsportsmanlike didn't result in a direct point swing and the holding call was legit

Make sure you post next year when you have a new QB.

Well damn. I guess that ends all arguments now.
Talking about stupid. You just used Gary Danielson to back up a point. Congrats.

the danielson mention was merely to provide an objective point of view since everyone in this thread is likely to be either a bama or lsu fan. and danielson is actually very knowledgeable. try to keep up

You'll find that any time a QB is struggling I'll more than likely be on his side. Any person that has coached or played the position has a soft spot for QB's.
I promise I'll be around next year. I love you guys.
