One possibility is having Pruitt on staff as analyst but he will be on field analyst due to new rule changes in CFB and... Austin could be made a coDC and just have Pruitt teach him and game plan with him until Pruitt is cleared?

Bingo! I think that's a feasible work-around for a brief delay in Pruitt being DC -- Austin can be his understudy / temporary "frontman." Then when Pruitt officially becomes DC, Austin is his Co-DC/ILBs Coach.

Just wondering out loud, but I think the 2 most likely possibilities are:
1) waiting on things with ncaa and Pruitt
2) hiring a DC who has a bonus to stay on at current job through 2nd signing day in Feb

That’s it. Nick needs to hire me asap as a hiring analyst and give me lifetime tickets to all Alabama football games.
