Kirby left Bama after '15. Since, Bama won nattys in '17* and '20*. Bama also played in the championship game in '16 and '18 where they got Dabo'd both times.
They haven't dropped off much post-Kirby. Even this year Bama lost two games by a total of 4 pts.
What has and is happening is that Kirby and to a lesser extent, Kelly, Saban's supply lines are getting squeezed.
