You'll quickly have players start holding out the last couple games of their rookie contract in anticipation of signing a bigger free agent deal. You know it's coming, and soon. "Respect my decision. I'm just protecting myself and my family." And all of you justifying a habit of quitting will line up and simp for these players.

sorry for necroing this thread, but with what you're saying; there is a tension. that tension is "if this guy was disloyal to his college program, how disloyal will he be in the NFL?" when it's a clear first rounder in the Bologna Bowl and they sit out that's fine. some kid sniffing around for NIL money on his third school won't get a nuts offer from any pro team because they've proven they're a full on mercenary.
IMO, and I think I said this, if you get that NIL money to play for a certain school you're a professional and conctractually should be abliged to play every game
