I'm not going by the Byron Haskins version of Auburn. I'm going by the Caddy version. Our D should keep us in every game. Our two biggest rivals are breaking in new QBs so regardless of how talented they are, there's still a learning curve. I expect Freeze to treat Ole Miss like Gus did Arkansas. Anything less than 8 wins means we took a lot of losses at Jordan-Hare and I'd be very disappointed with that.

I’m all for a positive outlook but pre-spring there is nothing to indicate we will be a “good” team.

We have no idea if the DL is going to be able to pressure the QB. We don’t know if we have 1 run stuffing LB on the roster much less 2-3 deep. We are an ankle sprain away from having a mid to lower SEC offensive lineman and that is if all the transfer and the Juco are what we expected. There isn’t a proven number 1 WR. We have a bunch of SEC WR3 level guys. As much as I personally like Battie if Hunter were to miss 2-3 games I’m not sure Alston and Cobb are ready to take RB2 reps.

Plus we have to get much much much better at QB.

We have some strengths and I hope the coaches play to those strengths.

We may win a bunch of games this year but it would have to be schedule and some luck. In 2025 we should see some of the results of recruiting. It’s a process and isn’t fixed by bringing in 12 transfers. We haven’t finished in the top half of the conference in 3 recruiting cycles.

With all that I say we are a 6-6 to 8-4 team. Anything greater is gravy.

Hyping every one up and getting all stoked are only going to take you so far. Eventually, the rubber meets their road and the talent rises. I love all the hype but dont get too emotional over it.

It's kind of like poker. Most times, the best hand wins
